What Is the VVRP Program?

The Voluntary Vehicle Repair Program (VVRP) is an Arizona program that helps eligible vehicle owners pay for emissions-related repairs after a failed emissions test. The program pays up to $900 toward qualifying repairs, and the vehicle owner pays a $100 co-pay. Additional repair costs above $1,000 are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

If you want to participate in VVRP, your vehicle must first fail its required Arizona emissions test before you bring it to Action Auto Repair for VVRP repairs. After the failed test, you must apply for the program and receive approval. Once approved, you can select Action Auto Repair as your VVRP-approved repair facility.

Common causes of emissions-test failures can include a check engine light, faulty oxygen or other engine-management sensors, ignition problems, fuel-system issues, evaporative-emissions leaks, a loose or damaged gas cap, and other components that affect how the engine and emissions system operate.

After the repairs are completed, we'll take your vehicle back through emissions testing for you and make sure it passes. You don't have to make another trip to the emissions station or wait in line for the retest.
